I have earlier read Restrepo’s other books: I bought the book expecting more as it deals with the missing people during the bloody argentina dictatorship in the mid seventies. I love firstreads and I am grateful to publishers for posting book contests. The boy grew up without the father, and so they restrepi come back to Argentina to find him. Another one of my criticisms is that I didn’t care for the writing style. This novel can’t seem to make up its mind on which topic it wants to focus on.

See all 7 reviews. Restrepo es una diosa de la lengua y esta novela, un hito. Mother and Father used to be in the “underground” in Argentina during the guerra sucia. Runs off with Son. Throughout, the dialogue has an uneasiness to it that I suppose I will attribute to translation issues, thus the first 50 pages or so are difficult to get through.
